Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Germany (Remote)

We are hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a fast-growing SaaS platform bringing transparency and efficiency to a fragmented, relationship-driven B2B marketplace – replacing manual tendering workflows (email, phone, spreadsheets) with a centralised digital solution used by tens of thousands of businesses across Europe.

In this position, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing, and delivering AI solutions that sit at the heart of the product. Your work will span ideation, data exploration, modelling, experimentation, and deployment into production systems, with a direct impact on users and business performance.

What You’ll Work On

• Develop and deploy ML models for tasks such as price prediction, ranking, search, information retrieval, and agent-like workflows.
• Own the full lifecycle of ML features: from prototype and experimentation to reliable, scalable production services.
• Design evaluation strategies, including offline metrics and online experiments, to guide product and model decisions.
• Integrate ML components into web-based products, collaborating closely with engineers and product teams.
• Help shape the AI strategy and contribute to technical decision-making across the platform.

Profile We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience as an ML Engineer or Data Scientist, working on end-to-end ML solutions in production.
• Strong background in machine learning and deep learning, including model design, training, evaluation, and iteration.
• Advanced Python skills, with a track record of writing robust, maintainable code for real-world systems.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and data tooling such as Pandas or Polars.
• Comfortable handling diverse data types and practical modelling challenges, from preprocessing through deployment.
• Experience with LLM-based systems and agents (e.g. RAG pipelines, tool-using agents, multi-step reasoning, and evaluation).
• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, and the ability to connect ML services to APIs and front-end applications.
• Confident with statistical tests and experiment design, including A/B testing and metric-driven decision-making.
• A product-focused mindset: you prioritize impact, can navigate ambiguity, and move quickly while staying data-informed.
