The Company

This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative engineering team working at the intersection of data engineering, software development and AI.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design and build data-driven applications that support live frontend experiences. Working closely within full-stack engineering teams, you’ll develop scalable data solutions while applying strong software engineering principles to modern data platforms.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, building reliable systems, and helping shape engineering best practices through high-quality, production-ready software.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and building data-driven applications to support a live frontend
  • Working as part of full-stack teams alongside backend and frontend engineers
  • Applying software development best practices to the data world, including test coverage, design patterns and CI/CD
  • Using AI tooling effectively while maintaining ownership of correctness and technical design
  • Implementing effective metrics, monitoring and observability processes
  • Building reliable and scalable data solutions that support business-critical applications
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team

What They’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of commercial experience writing production code as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer using Python
  • Experience shipping tested, reviewed code and taking ownership of technical quality
  • Strong debugging skills with the ability to reason about edge cases and complex problems
  • Moderate to proficient experience with data processing libraries and concepts
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of database concepts
  • Understanding of database administration principles
  • Experience with DataOps methodologies, tools and processes
  • Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with DBT
  • Experience working with AI technologies including LLMs, skills and agents
  • Experience building RESTful APIs or event-driven applications
  • Experience in data warehouse development or database administration
  • General knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance
