The Opportunity
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll take ownership of designing, building and delivering production-grade software within a modern engineering environment. Working closely with product and engineering teams, you’ll build scalable backend services while contributing across the full software development lifecycle.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with distributed systems, and helping shape engineering best practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and delivering scalable backend services using Java and Kotlin
- Owning features from technical design through to production deployment
- Building and maintaining event-driven microservices
- Working with Kafka and distributed systems architecture
- Collaborating with product, engineering and architecture teams during solution design
- Writing clean, well-tested, production-ready code
- Participating in code reviews and mentoring other engineers
- Using AI development tools to improve engineering productivity
- Supporting production systems and continuously improving platform reliability
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience
- Strong Java and Kotlin development experience
- Experience building scalable backend or distributed systems
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies (Kafka desirable)
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other database technologies
- Understanding of microservices, APIs and cloud-native development
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to Azure or another major cloud platform
- Comfortable working in Agile engineering teams
- Frontend experience with React, TypeScript or Node.js would be beneficial but isn’t essential
