A respected industry partnership body representing the electrical contracting sector is seeking an Industrial Relations Manager / Employment Relations Manager to play a key role in maintaining effective relationships between employers and employees across the industry.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a well-established collective agreement that supports thousands of skilled workers and hundreds of businesses operating across the built environment and construction sectors.
The Role
You will act as a trusted advisor and impartial facilitator, supporting employers, operatives and apprentices on employment and industrial relations matters within the framework of an established sector agreement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert advice on employment relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance and performance matters.
- Managing dispute resolution processes and promoting early intervention through mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
- Supporting the governance of industry committees and regional boards through secretariat and reporting responsibilities.
- Helping maintain and modernise sector agreements and guidance, ensuring alignment with employment legislation and industry best practice.
- Contributing to wage negotiation preparation and industry engagement activities.
- Delivering presentations, guidance and insight to member organisations to strengthen understanding and confidence in the agreement.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Strong employment relations or industrial relations experience.
- A positive approach to mediation, dispute resolution and collaborative problem solving.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and workplace procedures.
- Excellent communication, advisory and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to remain balanced, impartial and commercially aware in complex situations.
