Project Description
The purpose of the project “Central Services (IT Infrastructure Services in Substations & Offshore Platform” [Analysis] is to analyse, verify, harmonize, consolidate and finalize (versioned) the requirements specification for IT infrastructure services based on a modern, consistent, centrally managed service approach, which comply with all safety as well as security regulations and simplify operation and maintenance for the client.
In light of the ongoing energy transition, a significant increase in the number of substations (on- and offshore) operated in Belgium and Germany is expected. Moreover, the grid is progressively being managed with increasingly sophisticated systems. Transitioning to a significantly more complex power grid requires advanced IT infrastructure and modern substations which necessitates the consideration of IT and OT (operational technology) requirements.
The requirements specification developed by the project serves to ensure robust, stable, secure and, above all, predictable operation through efficient monitoring and logging as well as secure management of user identity and patching.
Position Description
In this role, the individual will provide guidance and advisory to the project team deep understanding of the OT components in a substation and system operations of a power grid.
This role is part of the project team consisting of 8 roles and in this role will be reporting to the project manager.
Targets in that Position
Provide guidance and expertise to the project team by extensive experience on OT knowledge about protocols, devices, architectures and security principles during the phases of requirements gathering, analysis, validation & verification – especially through validating requirements on IT Infrastructure Services from on IT/OT integration, coherence and convergence perspective.
Profile Requirements
The individual must be at a senior level Expert with experience in IT/OT Projects in the energy (power) sector, is part of the project team and needs collaboratively work together with different stakeholders of the client.
Skills:
• Broad technical knowledge of OT Systems
• Broad technical knowledge of IT Systems
• Experience in auditing energy supply according to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27019, VDE
• Deep knowledge in grid technologies, secondary tech. & system operation
• Deep knowledge in Process control systems & technology, System Control
• Risk & Error Analysis in Power Grids
Communication and Collaboration:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical
concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, engineering, and
project management teams.
• Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to understanding stakeholder needs and delivering
solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• min of 10 years of experience in building up secondary systems of a substations
• Demonstrated experience in building up substations
• 10+ Years of experience in the field of primary and secondary systems in electrical grid
Must-have competencies / skills (must have unless otherwise noted)
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the energy sector with connection to power grids.
• Proven experience in design of OT architectures of power grids
• Proven experience in technology innovations in the energy industry
