Position Description
We are seeking experienced and passionate Cloud Native Application Architects to join our international team. You will be part of the Reference Architecture team within the Product Management organization (Product Managers and Product Owners), and you will work closely with the Customer Success team as well as with the Architecture team (all lead architects of product lines) to define iteratively the “reference architecture for cloud native application using & running on the platform” (application reference architecture).
On the one side, you will be translating the product vision and product specification into the application reference architecture (“how to use the platform in its current version”), and on the other side, you will also complement and support the Product Management work to define the roadmap of the products.
At a subsequent step, you will also help customers (through the Customer Success team) to apply the reference architecture design patterns to their applications.
Targets in that Position
• Create and define the “reference architecture for cloud native application using & running on the platform” considering the current capabilities of EDP. The application reference architecture document will guide, govern, but also set the rules for customer for “what is required to run on the platform”. In addition, the application reference architecture document will serve as an input to user documentation regarding “How to use the platform” The application reference architecture document is not just providing textual description of the architecture but must complement the text by providing concrete coding examples, up to and including, a sample application.
• Work closely with the Product Management team, Customer Success team and EDP’s Architecture team to understand the current state and capabilities of EDP, gather feedback, and incorporate it into the application reference architecture.
• Collaborate effectively with the Product Management team to help prioritize features and user stories for the next release of EDP
• Use best practices known from CNCF/ Public Cloud providers as well as company internal policies.
Profile Requirements
The individual must be at a mid – senior level in cloud-native application architecture with proven skills and experience in that area. We are looking for:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an easy to understand manner.
• Able to work with highly experienced platform architects to shape and translate EDP current and future capabilities into a reference architecture for applications running on EDP
• Collaborative and co-creation mindset with experience working closely with cross-functional teams.?
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, being comfortable in taking decisions informed by the position of a large number of stakeholders.?
Must-have competencies / skills
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a cloud native application architect with proof-points that the architected applications are operational at scale.
• Proficient in coding sample applications demonstrating how to develop applications using cloud native design patterns.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and the ability to specify at an architectural level the security best practices that must be incorporated throughout an application’s SDLC.
• Strong technical background and understanding of cloud computing, as-a-service practices & patterns, cloud native principles and DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to develop and communicate an application architecture using best practices & methodologies in formulating & creating application architectures.
• Demonstrated experience in explaining the maturity required to use cloud native technologies – not only on the IT side but especially on the Business side of an enterprise.
• Fluent English in speech and writing (at least B2)
