I’m currently partnered with one of Europe’s leading video streaming platforms, which is investing heavily in its backend engineering organisation as part of a major growth phase this year.
Their platform powers thousands of 24/7 live TV channels alongside on-demand content from dozens of providers, serving viewers across multiple markets. Behind the scenes, their Streaming & CDN team builds and operates the systems responsible for delivering video at scale and managing millions of streaming sessions reliably.
They’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this team and help shape the next phase of the platform’s evolution.
The Opportunity
This role combines technical leadership, team development, and hands-on engineering. You’ll enable a highly skilled team to perform at their best while also contributing to the architecture and evolution of a platform that operates at significant scale.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the systems that power live TV streaming and on-demand content delivery remain reliable, scalable, and high-performing.
What You’ll Be Doing

Providing organisational and technical leadership for the Streaming & CDN team

Owning and evolving the technical vision and architecture, working closely with senior engineers

Overseeing the end-to-end development process to ensure high-quality, reliable, and maintainable systems

Continuously raising the bar on engineering quality, testing practices, and best practices

Supporting internal stakeholders with technical expertise around streaming infrastructure

Collaborating with other engineering leaders to simplify systems and optimise cross-team processes

Managing and mentoring 2-4 engineers, while leading hiring initiatives

Growing and developing engineering talent within the team

Remaining hands-on with the tech stack, contributing to development when needed

Bringing curiosity and new ideas to improve video streaming architecture and system scalability
What They’re Looking For

3+ years of experience leading engineering teams

Strong background building highly available services and scalable APIs

A mindset that treats testing as a fundamental part of software development

Experience working in Scrum or agile engineering teams

Strong communication skills and fluent English

Proven ability to mentor engineers and create high-performing teams

Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Go
