Feeling tired at work? No longer productive? Take a break!

A productive workforce is the aim of every employer. Being efficient at work is not easy all day long due to a variety of reasons like stress, bad mood or tiredness.
Depending on your working environment, you should aspire to have the freedom and self-management to have a short break between tasks.

Keep focused

To recover energy and work more efficiently, having a break is scientifically proven to increase focus and performance. Most of the time in hectic office environments, a lot of information is demanded and our attention is reduced to 8 seconds for a task!

Fresh air

Breaks are the best way to change the way we work and freshen up our ideas. Getting bored or a lack of creativity happens to the majority of employees at work but a 20-minute break from your activity is considered as beneficial for brain, body, and soul.
Obviously, smoking a cigarette is not recommended, however, simply going outside for a few minutes certainly helps. Fresh air, fresh mind! Standing up and walking improves wellbeing rather than sitting throughout the working day in the same position and staring at the screen.
Indeed, changing your working environment, for example in a cafe or a park, can be a source of inspiration.

Social break

Set deadlines in your work so that once you’ve finished your task, allow yourself a break. This will give you a sense of achievement, feel uplifted and ready for the next task. Convince your colleagues to do so at the same time, maybe even suggest a ‘social break’, where there is the opportunity to share ideas and get updates on the next projects in the company.

It is not just me suggesting taking a break, large brands communicate the same message. Have you ever noticed? The best-known advertising campaign is Kitkat’s slogan “Have a break, have a KitKat”.

Live by that mantra, so now, let’s take a break!
